I do. Most of the time. And they change my life.
I said yes to a journey that is only 58 weeks old but is my daily thrill. I get to pastor my friends. I jumped on Dream Year. I knew it would get more expensive and exclusive in the future. I said yes when Capital called. Those students energize me. I say no a lot too. My first and best adventure is the pursuit of my 4 ladies and they must get my best.
Do you want to watch your own adventure unfold? OR do you want to watch others live their lives? I’m not into adventure by surrogacy.
Right now I’m at a retreat. I’m dedicating everything to this small group of guys learning a new way of living, seeing, and being.
This retreat reflects another step in the dream of my life. I want to spend everyday helping people figure out who they are apart from what they do. Whether as pastor, prof, or author my goal is to help others learn how to experience a secure identity in Jesus. And I want to be the best in the world at it.
Some of you reading this went back and forth about coming to the retreat. I would never shame you. But I do want to poke and prod a bit.
What are you afraid of? What is holding you back?
There will be another retreat coming up sooner rather than later, Lord willing. But it will NEVER be like the last opportunity.
Would you help me seize this opportunity and pray for our time to be deeply transformative? Thanks!
Any action you need to take today?

This retreat was transformational. I was one of the guys who went. I had no idea how big of an opportunity it was. I guess sometimes they seem small and insignificant but God packs a punch in those small instances. I’ll record a video like you asked Chris, but in short, I know who I am now. I am at peace. No more striving for attention and love. At peace in the secure identity Christ gave me and shelters me in. Things will try to keep you away from this- that’s because it will change you. I had to fight to get here and I had no clue how huge it would be. I want others to go and I want to jump in and make it multiply. Awesome job Chris. Perfect.
So great to hear. Thanks for sharing. Fantastic to hang with you and hear your story. I have no doubt we will many more conversations. Peace!
