We lead to give and not to get. We check our power by checking our motives.
Jesus purifies our motives while encouraging us to be as strategic as possible.
For me this drills down to a specific focus though it may be different for you. I am tempted to hype the good and ignore the bad.
If I’m leading to give then I will face reality, share the problem, and invite others to seek God with me as we pursue solutions.
If I’m leading to get I will ignore reality and hype the future. This is leading from depletion and not overflow. Sadly, I am comparing my journey to the journey of others and not measuring up. I am building my worth in everything working out. (Everything NEVER works out. We’ll always have problems and setbacks.)
The Lord builds the house. The Lord builds your leadership. It’s not by might or power but by His Spirit.
